Default Line

I currently have 10 LB Monofilament on my baitcaster. I am going Salmon fishing tomorrow and I want to put my braided powerpro line on it, but then I want to switch back to the mono so that I can practice and junk. But I don't want to waste 10 dollar line on one day of fishing. Should I put the line back on the fishing line spool and then respool it when I'm done or what?

Does this make sense?
Can I just tie the braided line onto my spool and then reel, or do I need to do something special when spooling braided line?
