Florida Trip
I've been in Florida the past 2 weeks. As I've mentioned a couple times, I am pursuing a bass fishing grand slam - catching every species of black bass. Going to florida this year I had 5 (LM, SM, spot, redeye and shoal) - I added the Suwannee bass to that tally this trip and now only lack the guadelupe bass of texas - then I will have caught every type of bass in existence.
I fished the suwannee and santa fe rivers in north florida, and also the lower kissimmee chain. Kissimmee is brutally tough right now, I eeked out numbers going light action but dont expect any big fish pictures like I had 2 years back. Here are a couple photos though. The above is me with the suwannee bass. Yes I know its a small fish, but they only get like 3 pounds max. I got one close measuring, which was a nice suwannee. This is a close up of what a Suwannee bass looks like. The colors are pretty similar to a smallmouth, and they fight and hold around current and rocks like smallmouth too. Lake Hatchineha I took my dog on this trip. She likes to go fishing. Gets in my way on the deck, but shes a good dog.

Sounds awesome man! Looks like you had a really great trip, and that's a really cool picture with that tree.

congrats on the Suwanee (never heard of it). Just got a puppy myself about 4 weeks ago and he's done some shore fishing already, he does have a tendency to get in the way, I can't imagine him in the boat. Thanks for the picts and good luck with the guadelupe.

Sounds fun. Surprised you didn't try for a peacock since you were pretty far down south.

I saw the size of peacock bass during the banjo minnow infomercial. Those are some big big fish.
