You guys think you got cabin fever? You think you can't wait for spring???
Look what less than 24 hours of snow and ice does to NC boys... I'll just bet at least one of these guys said. "Hey. Hold my beer honey!"

I wouldn't even mind it so much if we got a decent snow every once in a while. At least that would be fun but it only happens here about once every 4 years.

We got about 12 or 13" of snow and it's still snowing it sucks. While I was shoveling some of the snow, I looked at our bass boat and it had so much snow on it I thought the ding-dang tires might blowout.

Good one, Bryce.
Ron, I would be pushing the snow off my boat before the cover rips. Ask Smitty, he'll tell ya. -Mark Last edited by woody; 01-31-10 at 04:55 PM. |

Thank you guys for real.Ya'll are making me feel good compared to what you guys are going through. We have the cold temps, 21 this morning, had a few flurries and LOTS of rain. But right now it is looking like the rain didn't ice up the roads too bad. Sun is shining like it should be summer....so bright. But stuck my head out there and QUICKLY ducked backed in,lol. Yeah, i was just a mumbling bad words under my breath. Forgive me for that LORD. It should start warming up around here in about 4 weeks. By that i mean warm enough to get out there and do some REAL fishing. March is coming and i hope it isn't as windy as it was last year. I lie the rest of us here am about to go POSTAL if i don't get out there on the water soon. The RAJUN CAJUN should be ready in around 2 weeks (totatly re-wired cause of feild mice getting into it, real bummer) and i will be out there wearing out my arm i hope.
man..........looking out the window...............so pretty looking. PASS ME A HAM STICK! HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Winter is brutal in upstate NY. It's so bad that not even through our first year up here I'm thinking of moving to the south. Heating bills are astronomical, no local bass season til late June, etc. Ice fishing is O.K., but I really don't know if I can take only being out on the water 4-5 months out of the year.

Yeah...I always have this corporate recruiter calling me from Atlanta asking me if I'm satisfied with my job, would I like to move, etc. I'm trying to wrap my head around the idea of being able to bass fish 12 months a year if the weather is good. Man...if things ever fall apart on me here, I'm going to give it serious consideration.

Southern Indiana isn't too bad, I was there on Friday and Patoka was all open water. But Georgia is one place I'm thinking about.

To echo what Bama is saying, Bryce, if you ever do want to move Huntsville alabama is your place. Tons of engineering jobs with Nasa, Redstone arsenal and private companies, high standard of living, low cost of living, and the tennessee river is maybe the best in america for both smallmouth and largemouth. It has everything atlanta would have but better fishing and a third the crime.
....... I was gonna post something else...unrelated to the above...this is my favorite time of year, just because the warm season is close and will last from some time in feb through parts of october....during october and late summer I am very much conscious of the weather I am fixing to lose, so it makes things not so enjoyable, I pressure myself to get too much in, but something about those early warm days and the guarantee that there will be many more to come and soon is just enough by itself to put a smile on my face. All we have to do is tough it out and pretty soon the season will be on for everyone. Last edited by WTL; 01-31-10 at 07:40 PM. |

Well, after I get my license this year (hopefully!!), it will open up a lot of possibilities for me. I appreciate the heads up. Yes, Huntsville seems like right in the epicenter of the bass fishing world.
