Well, my list really depends on the time of year you're going to fish, but for right now w/ the prespawn in effect, heres my list:
1. Rapala Shadrap #5 or #7 in shad pattern for clear water and deep red craw pattern for stained water. 2. Lucky Craft Pointer 78DD in clear water. Table Rock shad for cloudy weather, Nishiki for sunny weather, a green backed lure (don't know the name of the color) if you're fishin KY lake. 3. Culprit 7.5 inch Red Shad worms w/ a black pegged sinker in shallow crappie beds and heavy brush. Best any time and every location soft plastic made 4. Bitsy Flip Jig in watermelon w/ a Paca Chunk trailer in pumpkin w/ a purple hue. Great for gravel/clay banks where bass are searching for crayfish. Especially effective if the wind is blowing on the point kicking up debris. 5. Spinnerbait. Brand of your choice as long as its chartruese w/ gold willow leaf blade and smaller colorado blade in muddy water and white w/ double willow leaf silver blades in clear water. Those are my favorites all the water through the prespawn. All of these lures are also very effective most other times of the year. Good luck, and don't spend too much money........ N/M, spend a lot of money, it'll make you feel good. |

Well, as usual my plans did not work out. I did not go to Nashville Saturday. Therefore I did not go to bass pro. The situation was beyond my control. However there is a upside to this sad, sad story.
With the bait monkey still kicking me to go look at lures, I went to the Gander. The bait monkey was very pleased. I got Rapala DT4,6, and 10 in a shad, crawfish and perch (i think) color. Couple spinnerbaits (white and Char.), couple of strike king buzz baits. Ratltraps 1/2oz 4 different colors. I was showing the lures to my three year old son yesterday and he said to me "Daddy you messed up." I asked why. He said I didn't get any fishing worms. I informed him that I didn't think the bait monkey was done. |
