It's about 32 now, we've still got a bit of snow (2") on the ground, but it's supposed to warm up and rain for Christmas Eve, and be in the 40's by the weekend here. BB

Here in Southern MN, we already had a big storm two weeks ago, getting 10 inches of snow then, plus another 4-5" this past weekend. Now we have this coming, according to the weather alert issued by the National Weather Service in Minneapolis:
"...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6PM CST WEDNESDAY UNTIL 6 AM CST SATURDAY... THE SNOW WILL LAST THROUGH THURSDAY AND CHRISTMAS WITH SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS FORECAST. THESE ACCUMULATIONS WILL LIKELY BE IN EXCESS OF ONE FOOT... WITH 20 INCHES OR MORE IN SOME LOCATIONS. THE SNOW MAY MIX WITH FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET AT TIMES IN SOUTHERN MINNESOTA. WINDS WILL GENERALLY BE FROM THE EAST NORTHEAST AT 15 TO 25 MPH THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT. THESE WILL INCREASE AND TURN MORE NORTHERLY AS THE CENTER OF THE SYSTEM APPROACHES. THIS EVENT MAY BECOME COMPARABLE TO THE HALLOWEEN SNOW STORM OF 1991." Merry Christmas, everyone! |

Wish we could get a couple feet of snow.

Up until about 30 minutes ago it was warm and calm. Now we are under a severe T-storm warning and the north wind will blow the hair off a dog.

Our Christmas Eve forecast:
"Chance of rain 100%. Windy with thunderstorms. Some locally heavy downpours are possible. A few storms may be severe. High near 65F. Winds SSE at 25 to 35 mph. 1 to 2 inches of rain expected." Not cool, man...not cool at all...

Our Christmas forecast, 28 and sunny, 0% chance of rain. That's like a heat wave considering the last month!

Ended up with a few snow showers for Christmas day. No accumulation though.
