I only flip with a 1/16 ounce weight sometimes pegged with a little split shot making it I guess 1/8 ounce. Just my prefference from learning the technique of flipping fishing a small lake that flipping is for the most part the only technique. In that out fishing most that fished the same day as me and always fished 1/2 ounce or more weighted baits to sink into the tullies easier. Sure it took more flips to land in a space that my lure sunk but it equalled more fish at the end of the day.

I like the Reaction Sweet Beavers in Black and Blue, and the Falppin hogs in the same color work well too....other than that I use a pumpkin/watermelon color....

I am not trying to put this in the best bait debate, but yesterday evening while I was shore fishing I realized that I had put the wrong pack of baits in my pocket. I had a pegged 3/8 oz weight with watermellon paca craws tied on. After that bait became unusable I reached into my pocket to find that I was carrying a pack of 3 inch bass assasins. Rather than walk back to the car, I tossed on the bass assasin and proceeded to land two more. I am farily sure that this may fall into the "if it moves" technique, but hey, it worked.
