That type of handle shown in the picture must be the direction rod makers are headed. I have 12 brand new custom rods to sell at Richmond and most have that type of handle. Are cork handles being phased out or is this just a new thing being sampled?

i hope the hell not.. eva foam grips are cheap to build for sure. but when it gets cold the foam freezes you loose grip on the rod. it is like holding an ice cube. not to mention casting in cold weather would cause pre-mature release of the rod, handle. which will cause cussing a blue streak.. i used to use eva handles -i don't even own one now..

No problem. I gotta container of those BPS butt caps (I feel awkward using that phrase "butt caps" . . . ). Anyway, just zip me a private message with your name and address and I will send you one of those caps. However, I guarantee that after you buy the weight system, you will likely never use it again.

I think it might have more to do that cork is becoming more scarce. Less of it means an increase in demand and therefore price. I think I read about this at TT with the interview they did with a big wig from Lamiglas. I love the tradition behind cork, but the graphite handles I see on Lamiglas rods rattles my bait monkey's cage, let alone a split grip.

Weren't the carrot sticks supposed to be a lot more expensive than they are? Maybe I'm just crazy, but I thought I read this somewhere.
