For you guys who paint your own stuff. What finish coat do you use and how do you apply it?

Today I used 2 part epoxy, and then heated it with a heat gun to get the bubbles out. Works OK. Theres gotta be a better way though.

Chip - I believe I've seen your work on a Charlie O before. Am I correct?????
Yes, when John purchased the remaining inventory of Charlie-O's, he had me paint some for him.

Chip

Thought so. John sent me a few baits to sell at last years Bassarama. I sold a bunch of Carin O's but couldn't sell the bigger baits.
Rock M. was throwing one in the Stren 2005 Potomac River tournament. I believe it was one of yours too. Perch pattern. He was catching good fish on it during practice.

Carolina Chip,

It's awful nice to see ya around. Hope the water isn't hard, and you're still fishing whenever you can. I saw the cold was about to really hit ya, if it hasn't already.

For all of those who haven';t heard me say this yet.

Carolina Chip's Cranks are pieces of art. They are without a doubt the best looking cranks I've ever fished!

Hey Lizards! You are living in Florida now? You know Art Ferguson is guiding on TOHO in the winter.

Water is just turning hard here, but I got the chance to fish smallie really late this year and just returned from a VA trip where I got to fish the James River for bass and the Chesapeak for Stripers!

Regards

Chip

How did you do on the James???? They had a bunch of bad spawns in a row and really hurt the fishing for a couple years (2001-2004). I've been told that it is improving now that they have had some great spawns the last couple years.

TOHO Nope didn't know that, last time I went out with him he was guiding out of Lake O at Clewiston, but the fishing hadn't been good for awhile down there. I really liked Art, and try to follow him. Maybe I'm in need of another guided tour LOL. Thanks for the info Chip, and hope 2007 is the best year ever for you and your family.

Sorry to hear that it was tough. I was told by two good sources that the James was rebounding nicely from the damage done but there are still sections of the river in which the fishing can be slow. It's expected to get better and better the next couple years if we get normal amounts of rain. Drought and floods in June really crush some of the rivers in the state.
