Yeah, you'll definitely know if a copperhead or a ratllesnake bites you, and you have time to get to the hospital, but if a spider (especially a brown recluse) bites you, you basically wont know, until its too late.

there was some thing on the discovery channel about them and they said you will know right away when you get bit by one even if you are sleeping you will wake up because the pain is so bad.

Not to add to the horror stories, but okay...I'll ad to them.

I once woke up with a 15" long straight line of bites on my stomach and chest. I guess the spider bit me once, and then decided to go on a rampage until he could get out from under the blanket. It really sucked, and I wished a painful death on the little jerk.

By the way, the bug bomb will work great, as long as it will kill ants. These spiders just love a house full of ants.

Damn NoFear, you went deep in the archives for this one. Spider bites are the worst! My grandpa got bit by a Brown Recluse several years ago, it was pretty devastating.

Snakes are definitely one of the hazards of fishing, especially in the south. About this time of year they start waking up and coming out. Moccasins will just sit there and let you step on them, they seem to have no fear. If I am walking a bank and get a little too close to one I will be jumpy for the rest of the day, step on stick and come unglued!

Don't go paying an arm and a leg for a pro to come in. When we found one in the house, I went to my neighbor who owns an exterminating company. He came in and proceeded to use raid fumigators.

Follow all of the directions and you will be fine. When it was said and done, I was only $30 and a 12 pack of beer out of pocket for the whole thing.

We have gotten into the habit of doing it every fall and have not had any issues since.

I love how everyone is giving advice on a problem that was a problem 4 years ago...

Now that's thinking outside the box. Instead of paying for a profession or insecticides, just sell the house!

Just to help you folks sleep easier with the thought of spiders. Just imagine how many humans swallow in their sleep. An old myth says most swallow 8 in their life time. The truth is, humans don't swallow spiders in their sleep.

Unless you sleep with your mouth open.

Crunchy chicken, with a liquid center.

I wonder if we taste like chicken to the animals that eat us. Or do they tell all their buddies chicken tastes just like people?
