Well I've been thinking about this post a lot lately and a couple of things I would like to point out. First off if you are the driver of the boat, many times the positioning of the boat can be the cause of people getting hung up. If you get your line hung up, I guessing you will go get it free, I know I do. Secondly if you aren't getting hung up occasionally then I don't think you are fishing the right spots, cover holds bass, and cover is where I fish. Also a lot of the posts are saying just break it off, well are these the same folks who get mad when they find fishing line in the water? I fish by myself an awful lot, and when I get hung up I go get it free. Why should it be any different if someone else gets hung up? I realize that tournament fishing is somewhat different, and yes both parties in the boat should be cognizant of the time and effort, not to mention the spooking of the fish it can cause. However If I have someone in the boat, and I get hung up throwing to a spot I believe to be good, I tell them to throw the bait over there b4 I go get it. How much string is sitting in all of the waters we fish, because someone just broke it off? I know the more you fish the better you become at not getting hung up, and being able to free it better, but everyone makes a bad cast occasionally. The last thought is that nowadays, many folks use braid, fused or really strong line, just breaking it off isn't as easy as it sounds. So the next time you get hung up, just remember how you just can't stand it when someone in the back of the boat does it, and by the way, they aren't the one controlling the boat, you are. So if you're positioning it to where they can get good casts, it's as much your fault as theirs. This of course is just MY OPINION, and there are always exceptions to the rule. But try to be a little more understanding, and a little less selfish .
