Default Do you just fish for Bass?

I know this is bassfishin.com, and I primarily bass fish, but love to crappie and cat fish as well from time to time. Just curious if you all do the same, or do you stick with bass?

Welcome to the forum, Alberto!

Occasionally I will take a spinning rod and go ultralight for bluegill, but otherwise it is strictly for bass.

I might set up some lines sometime for catfish or crappie, but its only while I'm bass fishing. I can't stand just sitting there waiting for the fish to bite I feel like I need to be doing something.

I usually go out strictly for bass, but I still carry some live bait with me to catch whatever bites my hook

ALBERTO,

Mostly bass, but if the fishing is slow on Fork, I like to jig for yellow perch until I catch 25 or 30, then go back to bass fishing.
At home I fish for bass, but take a break and do some walleye or crappie fishing. In the spring I like to wade rivers and fish for white bass in the swift water.
Sometimes I fish for a few channel cats to take to some friends in Dallas when we go down to visit.

I go to Panama City Beach every once in 3 months,
and enjoy catching saltwater fish such as King Mackerel, Bonito, Spanish Mackerel, Bluerunners, Bluefish, Ladyfish, and other saltwater species (catch off the Dan Russel Pier)

In freshwater, Bass, Catfish, Bowfin, Crappie, Panfish,
and occasionally Pickerel...

Welcome to the Forum!

LOL. well lets see. I primarily bass fish, but this year has been a bit different. I have been doing a BUNCH of walleye fishing, Just no walleye Catchin. LOL>
I also fish a lot for Rainbows in the lake and in the tributaries to Seneca Lake. I fish for crappie quite a bit, and bullhead on occasion. Perch once in a great while. and Smally's on seneca lake as well. But I am a man on a mission trying to get me a walleye. LOL>
I also fish for Pike and Pickerel as well as musky on occasion. That is another on my list to catch is a Musky. Once I start getting walleye I will focus a bit more on the Musky. LOL>

McCray,

Since bass fishing means you're going to catch a lot of pickerel, does pickerel fishing mean you're going to catch a lot of bass?

Actually a friend is taking me out on a boat tonight if all goes to plan. Depending on the tide we are either going for Striper or for Smallmouth (same river.)

The food chain in this river:

Blue Herring -> Sunfish/eel -> Smallmouth/Trout/salmon -> Bluefish, Striper, Sturgeon (endangered)

It's hard to have more fun on the water than when a school of Bluefish are up on top. ;D

It depends on the day. If the bass are biting that's all I'm out for. If the bass aren't biting, I'll take what I can get. I'd rather get home and say that I caught 20 bluegill instead of nothing. Bluegill ALWAYS bite.

Pretty much bass exclusively. I have probably went after most ever other fish over the years...now I find bass enough of a challenge.

I'm usually fishing for bass but I will hit the surf for red drum, striper and big blues from the fall through springtime..We've been getting some good striper blitzes anywhere from Thanksgiving through Christmas and the New Year.

I'd be with ranger here. I pretty much fish for Bass anymore. I will make the exception, when I get to saltwater, but I don't get much around Indiana.
