Default severe ice storm Wed.

16 hours without electric, we were "lucky" as some in our county may be without power until Friday. I have tops and large branches off 5 trees down in my back yard, again we were lucky none hit the house. One tree top did fall within two feet of my propane tank at the back wall. All were walnut trees and what remains of those damaged will have to come down. Also fortunate the tree where my boat is parked was only leaning over it but did not snap off. That could have been bad.

Bruce I'm glad you didn't get beat up too bad by the storm!

We get cold.
We get snow.

BUT RARELY those ice storms.
Man I'll keep the cold and snow if your willing to keep your ice storms!

I'm glad you made it through without any significant damage to your home. Losing the trees is a shame though. We get ice storms here, they are serious business.

That must have been one heck of an ice storm. I don't think walnut trees are known for breakage. I'm glad to hear that the trees were the only things that got damaged though. You must be living right.

It was bad. Today it has been FIVE days and our power company still has 40,000 customers (from the peak 720,000) still without power, in the more rural areas of my county and the county northeast of and adjoining ours. Two more inches of snow last night - winter doesn't usually bother me but this one SUCKS.

Sorry for your misfortunes. Some ice and we did get a few inch of snow last night. Getting tired of cleaning off the cars and shoveling the sidewalks. Hard to find stuff to melt the ice around here.
