Hey lizards
Ya wanna let me in on some of your favorite lizards for site fishing? I will only buy zoom, and I figured you probably have tried them all...I know black is the standard and I prefer chartrues/black fleck, but I am wondering , do you use bright colors to sight fish on beds? pink, red , white...enquiring minds wanna know... |

One of the most consistent fellows in the tournaments locally uses green pumpkin only.....buys them in the bulk bags from Zoom and always buys the 6 inch sized lizards, usually about a hundred dollars worth a couple times in a year. He does well most of the time.

JB,
I would be lying if I said I'm really good at sight fishing LOL. I use zoom mostly, and I do like white. Aint never tried pink, even though lot's of folks use them, just can't seem to get past the pink thing rotfl. I will say my second favorite is Powerbait, and then FLW brand. When I do sight fish, depending on water clarity, black is my first choice, and in more stained water white, because I can see it better. I would stay with what you like, but greenpumkin is also hard to beat. A trick I have had success with however is to drop shot them on the beds. Either it just makes them mad after awhile, or they are askeered(as btl says) that they will mess with the eggs or bed. You also can get movement without moving it off the bed. I'm guessing you will have awhile to practice all of your techniques before they are on the beds though LOL. Come on down south, we can practice together on the beds NOW. Lizards

i have made the "bait monkey" my adopted child...i named him....well JB...these that are made by wave worms smell like licorish...know i spelt that wrong....but get the point....they do have a texture that's different from zoom....and that makes them nice....when you go to look at them open the pack and feel the difference....they hold a rattle 3mm size nicely....

rattles......hmm, I need some glass ones in the ol tackle box..I usually fished them but due to clear water i avoided them last year, I kinda wish we get regular rains this summer so it murks up the water a tad, plus the vegetation went hog wild last year.

Heck zooker,
it was the same way until last year, all the lakes are clearing up cus of those zebra mussels, or little rain, plus my fav pond doens't have the cattle comming in it to drink/piss in it anymore, the farmer sold his stock..so that makes a hug dif....plus the vegetation grew this year , looking like boulders of grass under a few feet of water...I guess every year is dif and YES i wanna come down and fish with about everyone on this site..best way to learn |
