Try dipping your senkos in coffee before casting um in, works well !!!!!!!!

Ok, forget the text above this post.
Now, I had a question about senkos.
Will they work well in medium murky water, with a relatively small population of bass? Or, should I stay with some lure that will increase my chance of attracting bass, such as a spinnerbait? There's a good number of trees and brush in the water, so I dont know if I should use a senko, due to possible snags.

Bass relie on their lateral lines heavily when water is less than clear. Senkos represent the superb, bulk lure that has the unique subtle action of roll-and-tail quiver.
For the lie downs and vertical structure, verical lures make sense (jigs, grubs, t-rigged worms, lead spoons), but Senkos are a horizontal drop bait and require not weight do to 25% salt content.

The 4 1/4" should do the trick for finicky bass, the the 5 1/4" is the standard for all bass sizes . A remarkable lure.

The coffee is the trick.............allows the worm to work better in murky water.

the coffee washes off when it hits the water. i dont think it makes a difference just that senkos work good where u r and u think the coffee helps but more than likely it does nothing

If that gives you confidence in the bait than continue to do that. It seems to me though, that if you dip it in coffee the scent would not stay on the bait for 10 seconds.

Ok, I'll try, but I've heard that the open-hook wacky rig works best. But, with the underwater branches... not a good idea, because you want to fish it close to cover, so the Bass can notice it. But, I'll try using the T-Rig.

What are best colors in this season and water clarity?

Why would you waste good or even bad coffee diping a senko in it?

Hey tom, I'd try a spinnerbait or a wide wobbling crankbait(firetiger or chart/black) in that situation. If you wanted to try a senko there, I'd try a chartruese color t-rigged.

Seaphantom, I'd go with a watermelon chartreuse swirl Tiki Stick. Â*If you want to wacky rig it and are worried about getting snagged next time you are in WalMart or some place like that Eagle Claw makes a hook with a wire weedguard. Â*Not as weedless as a T-rig, but better than a bare hook.

I used to use those hooks growing up, fishing with nightcrawlers, around timber. They do help, but it requires a very sensitive touch. I also reccomend using mono, as it will help float it better than the superlines.

As for Senko's, in the application where timber or laydowns are being fished. You might want to try a knock-off with less salt content or Mac's favorite modification. The reason here is that many times a slower falling bait will entice the bite, plus it's easier to keep from getting snagged with a lighter bait.(don't forget a Lizard in these situations
.) If you are looking for a faster falling bait then I would say senkosam has given you a few great choices. As for wacky rigging working best, well that is an opinion type question, and to me it depends on the cover/conditions. If you really want to wacky rig it, they do make a Wacky rig bait nowadays. Can't remember the name of it, but it looks like a tuning fork, or in other terms a U with a piece coming off from the curve of the U off. Looks like a Y except the v part is rounded like the U. Hope that made some sense ???

As for the coffee, well I'm with Cajun. Why would you ruin your coffee with salt from a Senko ???

ohhhhh crap i hate coffee. that is right ladies the high and mighty zooker can't drink the stuff. even a small amount and i am talking to chuck and earl for hours. doing the dew.
