Default oil bath hubs

i just changed the oil in my trailer hubs yesterday and thought that i would remind everyone to change theirs as needed. ranger says to change the oil in theirs every year or every 20,000 miles which ever comes first. it is a really straight foward procedure which doesn't take very long so there is no reason to not change the oil in them.

not really sure how changing the oil could cause a leak. oil out......oil in end of changing oil. guess we'll see but i have owned the boat for 3 years now and figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to change it before the haul to ky.

Do you have a procedure for changing it? I noticed on mine last night there is some oil on the rim. In the window they both look full, so I'm not sure what's up. Plus I don't see any drain or anything on them.

just take off the wheel and turn the hub until you find the hex head plug. remove it with an allen wrench, then turn hub over and let all the oil drain out. turn the hub back to where the hole is facing up and re-fill with 50 weight racing oil. then replace plug. that is all that was involved in mine so i am sure they can't be too different.
