Default Topwater Now!

Caught my first topwater bass of the year today. Caught one about 1.5 lbs in my dad's pond on a Spro Frog. First one of the season. I'm ready for some good topwater action now!!!

It's only good here when the algae and other plants build up on the surface... in a month or so the lily pads will finally be back in full swing, and I'm back to being a frog fanatic! haha.

Man! I love top water!!! I've I really got 'em good on Sunday with the rage tail toads!! My dad was using a Stanly frog, thinkin he would out fish the rage tail.... man, was he wrong! I think I got a new fave frog! I was using a poppin' spro 'till a gator got it.... it was blending in the turtles and hydrilla mats when it came after it.... real bummer!

Man I love topwater. My favorite is the hullapopper. Nothing better than having the sun dropping at the end of the day, things getting quiet, cept for crickets and bullfrogs. You're about to fall asleep from the music of nature and the rythm of twitching your rod to make that subtle pop. Just about when your ready to give it up and head in. WHOOP!!!

Was fishing a pond sunday. The little males were busy getting the beds ready. Caught a few on a black buzzbait. I lost a hog when she did the classic head shake. It was picture perfect. Funny thing was I slammed the hook home a couple of times. I knew it was big by the way she dove and bent the rod in half. This pond already has started to snot up. Seems a little early for PA.
