Default Banjo Minnow

Hey guys,
I havent been on here in forever!! Its great to be back. I just wanted to tell yall that the Banjo Minnow is freaking awesome!! I'm not kidding. Its the lure you see on tv and looks like a wounded minnow. I fish at a public lake and I have been around 100 times. It is super heavily fished and It is super hard to catch the bass in this lake due to fishing pressure. I had my best day of fishing ever yesterday bc of the banjo!! I caught a total of 5 nice bass and one being the biggest of my life, it was a tad over 3 lbs. They hit the lure most of the time when it was just falling slowly. I even caught a big catfish on it!! It was super awesome. The other guys in the boat were using rattle traps and a platic worm and they caught only one bass!! The action of the lure is amazing. It moves just like a dying minnow and the bass just suck it up. I really recoomend them. Try them out for yourself and you will see that I am not making any of this up!! Tight lines guys and God Bless!!!!

I would order off of the website. www.banjominnow.com

Or you can go to www.banjominnowparts.com and make up your own minnows.

I have quite a few banjo minnows here and have been considering using them as the bass are after baitfish in the lake right now. Guess I will have to drag them out and give it a shot, will report back how it goes with pics.

they are crap for normal fishing. but i use the minnows rigged sideways, as a jig trailer. that slapping motion they make (visualize them on sideways on a jig) really work sometimes. punching weed mats for walleyes as well

I dont really see the Banjo as a gimick. Just another rubber bait. No flashing lights, no motorized tail or anything else completely odd. Perhaps the way they were advertised. I have seen alot of fish taken on these. Unlike the helicopter lure and so many other lures like that.

You know, if they would cut the price down and knock off the excess BS you don't want or need with the kit, I would agree the BM is an effective lure at times. It just goes to show you that you can catch bass on almost anything if your in the right place at the right time. I won't be placing an order anytime soon, but if I find one on the shore line, I'll pick it up and toss it a couple times before throwing it back down on the shoreline....

They seem like they'd work well. I haven't got them due to the price.

Oh yes, we are revisiting the Banjo minnow. I will admit that many moons ago I ordered some of these things. Caught a few fish on them. Of particular interest, was that they would fall back into the spot where you would cast. It worked good if you needed a lure to stay in one area. Nevertheless, I wasn't a big fan of the Banjos.

Since we are on the topic of over-advertised lures for $19.95, I got to mention "Trout Magnets". They work well. Had lots of luck cathin' trout and crappie with these things. You might want to give em' a try.

And no, I do not have the number to order the Trout Magnets.

It's just that I have many productive lures that I trust. I pity the novice who tries the banjo.

at least it appears more like a jerkbait than its cousin the flying lure...I think the repetitive nature of the infomercials burned us all out on them, plus fellow anglers trying them with limited success...its like every lure in our tackle box in one aspect, they have probably caught a fish here or too and then go stale...why else would all of us keep buying and buying more stuff? Everyone of us has 10-20 favorites that keep producing year in and out, yet we go buy more, or new and dif. stuff every year..sometimes I think we all enjoy the anticipation of buying a new color or size or brand in hopes that we will catch bigger fish..lets just chalk up the banjo minnow as a "we tried it and most of the time we untie to try something else" type of lure.
For those here that the banjo minnnow produces, its no surprise to me.
For example, zooker has his crankbait arsenal and the stien, I use a rogue alot, others swear by the 4 inch worms. etc
They all work at one time or another, but when anglers swear that only one certain lure works 24/7 for them, well, I've yet to see that happen for me 365 days a year...to many variables in the equation....light, water color, time of year, fish migration and so on..
any comments?
