Default Making spinnerbait/jig skirts

I'm considering making my own skirts as it seems like it's often hard to find a skirt exactly like I want. For example, finding a bluegill color pattern skirt that actually resembles a bluegills true colors is very hard. Strike King makes a bluegill skirt that comes pretty close but other than that, I havn't really found anything. So I was just wondering how much hassle it is to make say a 40 strand skirt with mixed colors placed exactly where you want them in the skirts design? It seems it would be difficult to work all those strands through a little rubberband.

are you planning on pouring the silicone skirts yourself, or just using a variety of pre-made ones?

As for getting the strands into the rubber band, just roll them in a sticky note and put the band over them, then tear the paper away.

Keith, this might be exactly what you are looking for:

I've debated getting one myself.

Kdawg - It's not difficult making them. The basic tool will run you $2. Finding the tabs and getting them in small quantities and in the colors you want can be tricky. Mixing three colors or so isn't that hard. There's some new strands out with multiple colors are real nice for what you're talking about - matching bluegill. I haven't purchased any but got plans to.

fishingskirts.com is the spot to get all your skirting material. I order from there about 2 times a month.

Cool Skirts??? Here another site to check out.

www.livingrubber.com They have some colors that Fishingskirts.com doesn't have. I just put in another order in today. Check them out! Take a long look at the hot white and hot Chartreuse!
