Default 135 hp johnson

i had a 1979 mercury 140 hp but yesterday out fishing a tournament the 6 cylinder cracked and of course no good now, but i was wondering, i found a 135 hp johnson and was wondering how it would push my boat it is a 18ft tracker i cant afford a new motor so i am looking any help would be tons thanks to all that post. i live in northern MI

jsut as good as the 140 merc in my opion. 5 hosses ain't that much loss.

look on Craigslist.com
I have seen 200hp Mercs. going for $800 to a $1,000
Could find something for a good price to put on it.

That 135 in acyuality will push that boat better than the ole Merc did. I loved those Tower of Power's but you just cant do much to em. The 135 can be juiced up a bit ifn ya decide you want some more. Its REAL easy to do. Find the right heads and carbs and that 135 will REALLY wake up.
