Default Rat-L-Trap

I just got a rat-l-trap. Finally get to try it out today. I've seen videos online that say they can really attract bass and show you at least if there are bass in there. Keeping my fingers crossed!!

whats a bour back?

try to let it sink then pull your rod up to about 10 o'clock, then let it fall. keep your slack reeled in and be ready for a strike on the fall. it works for me best around grass lines.

You can also burn them over grass flats in 5-10 ft of water.

Crank,crank,crank, wait a second-crank,crank,crank- seems to work real good for me.....if they won't hit a blue/chrome, put on a blue/chrome....

got those as well girl. good color combo. but here is a little tip, IF you want to do it ok? take a YELLOW marker and make a line down the sides about halfway or in the middle of the sides. gives it the sexy shad combo.

Good color! One thing I highly recommend: Check the hooks-the standard traps, as good as they are, have hooks about as sharp as a Q-tip. Be sure to sharpen them or if you can change them out. You sure won't regret it when that big fish hits.

I went fishing today. Second cast I lost my Rat-L-Trap. I even lost my mind for a second and tried to go in the creek after it. My husband wouldn't let me, and tried to get it himself just to keep me out of the water. All he got was wet up to the waist. Couldnt get it free. He ended up catching 2 more fish. That's 4 total in the 2 days he's been. I've been 9 times now and only got one blue gill (The first day) grrr.

[IMG][/IMG]

this is what a rattle trap can do for you... my pb 7lb 12 oz..... actually not doin somethin special, just straight crankin it over a huge spawnin flat.... this baby saved the day for my dad and i..... 4 bags were over 30lbs (which is ridiculous) but we felt good with 2 fish that went 10 somethin......

so when they are spawnin and you cant get nothin, go over the flat with a rattle trap... their were 10 other baots in here and we started screamin and everyone was lookin at us.... one guy had been locked down for 4+ hours and he just shook his head... haha

I think it has to do with going to the stocked ponds on base. They are fished to death. There were people all the way around the pond we were at.

most likely you are right girl. try a nearby river or inpoundment or lake. if oyu can rent a boat of some kind. if ya don't catch fish, you at least get to spend time together out on the water. romance a little. lol. we salute your husband for his service. tell him we said "THANKS".

This is the last fish that James got. The first one big enough to actually consider taking a picture of.

p.s. I couldnt find an actual "Rat-L-Trap" at walmart, so i got a cheap-o one. Its smaller than the first one I had. This one is 1/4 and its black and chrome and looks like it has blood on it.

I like the Bleeding Shad colored Super Spots. I cast them out and burn 'em back as fast as my reel handle will let me. Different story if i am fishing in winter. I slowly jerk and reel then.

john's right. Besides my floating Rat-L-Trap, the only lipless bait I've ever caught fish on is a smaller FireTiger Spot.

Until this year. I'd never fished a trap. Heard so many good things about 'em here that I decided I better check it out.
Took about 1 cast to see why so many on here have mentioned that you can cover ALOT of water quickly.
When I went fishin with Bender last weekend, that was the 1st thing he mentioned, was using 'em to find 'em.
That's what I caught my smallie with. It was Baby Bass color btw

If I used traps to find the fish, I'd catch less than I do now. Heck, I'd catch less than bama!
