i think i'll put it on the plaque as 10-0 because it had been a while since i pulled it out, even though i had it in the aquarium afterwards..

all great things must come with a price... i was re-rigging my stuff just now and the tip off my new diawa was broke.. lost about an inch so i cut it at the next line guide.. i'll throw a new tip on it and fish it..

i told my dad and he had the same thoughts as me.. next rod is an ugly stick..

Dude, don't get an ugly stick, thay don't have much backbone, not enough for bass fishing that is imo. And just so you know, eagle claw makes rod tip repair stuff, works great, I've used on like 5 rods so far. Thet got it at gander.

Whatever. Have you seen some of the pics in bassmaster? I know that not every bass that gets in there is legit.

Are you implying that some fishermen would LIE to make their fish seem BIGGER?!?!?!?!
My whole world just came crashing down in ruins at my feet...

A great fish, but you should of let her go, a replica mount would have done ya just as good.

I think its hard to say what he should have done.

I dont like replicas as much as skin mounts myself. Not only is there an authenticity thing, a skin mount cant be faked, a replica is just apeice of plastic, but I think skin mounts are better looking when done right.

I think the C&R crowd has taken things a little too far. A 10 year old bass in South Carolina is an old fish anyways, it will die soon of age. I dont think it hurts anything for a dedicated fisherman to pick a few fish each year to keep, and if one of them happens to be at the twighlit of its life...good. It will be imortalized as a mount, rather than one day soon going belly up, rotting, and becoming a grotesque curiosity for passers by and buzzards.

I think rather than putting a premium on throwing back 9+ fish, we should instead put a premium on throwing back 4-7 lb fish. These bass are the ones that will be future lunkers. These bass have good years left.

i agree the 7 lbs and below throw it back no need to pay what 150-200 maybe more dollars to get it mounted (scene i never caught a 7 lber and up id probably get a 7 lb mounted but thats just me)but 8-9+ yep it'll be on my wall
