Need help in stocking my tacklebox. Just picked up the sport and will be fishing lakes, ponds and rivers. Need to know what to purchase so you must be specific. If it is in yours good chance it should be in mine.

Celtic,

I just recently cleaned out all my tackleboxes. I keep going from smaller box to bigger box. The smaller ones don't have enough room. The bigger ones, have so much stuff in them, i hate to carry it around. I don't think i will ever find the right one. I ended up giving 2 of them to my husband .
Nice to have some spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, crankbaits and keep a pair of scissors and/or needlenose pliers.

hey glad to see that you are picking up the sport. there are some very good lures out there, but alot depends on the color of the water, depth, and temp. if the water is murky then you should get bright colors and shiny objects. you should get a couple of top water baits such as a popper(exalibur poppin image), minnow plugs, booyah buzzbait(depends on color), and some tubes or lizzards. you deffinatly need to have a crankbait(bomber fat free shad). this thing works amazing!! another great one is the rattle trap. this gets so many greeaat strikes! deffinatly get a weedless jig. these things can get to places that get the good strikes. i also suggest some berkly power bait worms. if you want a really good brand for swim baits and shads check out the storm lures. these things are increadible. it the water is murkey get a spinner bait with a big colorado blade. best out there. these are some great things that have brought me alot of success and fun. now go catch some fish.

That covers a lot of ground. Â*Here is a great link that will help you get started:

http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/beginner.html

Now, as to your question: Â*These I keep handy, and most you can find at someplace like WalMart:

A chrome/blue back Rat-L-trap, a lipless crankbait

A couple of topwater baits like a Pop-R and a Tiny Torpedo

A bag of size 2/0 and 3/0 gamakatsu offset shank worm hooks

A couple of bags of Zoom Super Flukes-color watermelon red flake and Smokin' shad.

A bag of Wave Worm Tiki Sticks-watermelon red and watermelon/chartreuse swirl.

A white buzzbait

A white and white/chartreuse spinnerbait with a small (teardrop shaped) Colorado blade with a bigger willow leaf blade.

If you are not sure what any of these are post back and we'll point you in the right direction.

Another thing is go to a local tackle store ask the salesperson whats their best selling worm and how to texas rig it with a slide sinker. Its weedless and can be fished in most situations.

Lizards has more stuff then your average bait shop and somehow he fits most of it in his boat. Soft plastics are always a good bet. Here's a list for you.

Senko- Tiki Sticks,Kinami, or the Original.
Ribbon Tailed Worm- Yum, Zoom, Culprit or Powerbait.
Lizards- Yum, Zoom, or Powerbait.

These are a good way to start.

Nope sorry, don't buy senko's or knockoff's in bulk anymore.

try here though, the bummer worms work just as good as senko's IMO
