Start-Up
Well 2009's gunna be fricky fricky fresh, now obama may take our semi automatic guns, but not my fishing rod ... Last year i didnt decide to start till mid summer.. Whens the best time to get back on the pond? I've gotta start over with my tackle as i've lost some of it, broken my baitcasing rod and my main spinner rod screwed so i've got a baitcaster reel , a couple cranks and a couple spools of line.. On a low income basis what do yall recomend for me to schedule out my spending and fishing ?

If your pond freezes during winter, then the day it thaws. If it doesn't I'd be out there fishing now.

first off as far as how soon to start fishing, i would say go every chance you get. and for when to start spending money replacing fishing stuff..... really now is probably the best time. first off you aren't gonna be able to fish as often as you could in the summer because of the weather so that is saving you some money right now that you will be spending in the summer. also there are some pretty good buys right now becuse it is kinda out of season and plus it is right after christmas.

you are far enough away i can't say when i think the spawn will hit other than sometime in the spring, sure you already knew that though. once the water temps start climbing towards 60 degrees you should keep an eye out for beds, a full moon can trigger this once the water temps are close.
