Default I think his scale is broken

I may not be able to tell an exact weight from a pic, but there is no flipping way.

Cass, what state is that? State record over 23lbs. I don't think so, that bass might have weighed 4lb at the most.

Nope, not 18. Ain't no way. Look how snaky it is, no belly at all. I'm with bcklash, 4 lbs...ok, 4.5 on the outside.

lol.

yeah that fish looks no longer than the one i caught. so figure the length around 18 or so.. then the girth is nothing .. just a big mouth.. and no way he can lip an 18 lb bass up that easy

no freaking way...and by the way how is it 6 pounds off the state record when the state record is 18 pounds and 2.88 ounces(Texas) and there is no way it was 12 pounds..give me a break

even roland martin wouldn't have guessed that fish to way that much. nothing pisses me off more than someone who doesn't know anything about fishing guessing a fish weighs more than it really does.

i say 4.5lbs at best.

Either two things happened
1) Reporter was an idiot who had no idea what he/she was writing about
2) The kid did catch a 17lb fish and the picture got switched and the reporter had no idea what he/she was writing about

I think I see a hint of a tungsten block taped on the other side. Kid should be proud though. Kids that hunt and fish, don't have time to steal and kill.

Exactly right, and I dont feel comfortable ripping the kid as a liar until I know it wasnt the wrong picture. Besides, unlike most on this forum I have actually caught larger fish so I'm not exactly jealous.
