I have won some money and so has tony my tournament partner on the tiny torpedo, in crome and black...
As far as the chug bug, I thought it was ineffective the first several years I owned one, but a few years ago it really brought some nice fish to the boat, I lost it last year and haven't replaced it tho LOL... I have norman baits and they caught me about 10 fish last night, but they were all dinks...I noticed they dont catch fish, but over the last couple of years their paint jobs have gotten better...last night I threw the DeepN in green tomatoe color.... |

I would say the worst lure I have ever used was a chatterbait. I took the lip off and just used it as a jig after a while.

Worst lure ever? No such thing. If I'm fishing, then it's a great lure, because I'm fishing.

I am shocked No one said the Whiz Bang fabricar baits ? You know the one with the damned decoder ring and decoder handbook that always seemed to get ruined everytime it rained ?The ring was kind of useless without the book, once the rains came, but for $5.95 and the waiting for delivery, they sent you a new book.I am not good with instructions, and yet I did manage to catch decent fish with the lure even though I probably didn't use the lure to its fullest potential. Thanks again to the members on this site for introducing the Whiz Bang products. They are the best kept secret in bass fishing. P N J

I know its not a worst lure, but I have yet to catch a nice bass on a jitterbug, I've had the same black one for 20 years, and everyone I know, esp. in the south swear by it, I just haven't experienced it yet...
Same thing with my Little George tail spinner, I fish it alot just to see what will hit, all the old timers here used to slay the bass on it...I was lucky enough to find a garage sale and got all 3 of them about 15 years ago. |

JB,
That black jitterbug is probably one of the best night fishing lures ever. Just "plop-plop-plop" it around a brush pile and hang on. As far as the Little George, find a school of yellow perch hanging around below a pod of shad and drop "Georgie" down thru the shad to the bottom and rip it up about 3 ft and let it fall back. You will catch some fine table fare (yellow perch) and often will catch a lunker largemouth that was feeding on the shad and perch also. The Little George is also a good lure for white bass (sand bass). JackL

Pig N Jig, those matzuos rattletraps work well, there's this 5-pack that they sell that have a crappier version of that and they dont work.

Mine would probably be an old snagproof black leach. Never caught squat on it. Quote:

Keep chunking it, Astro-traps definitely catch fish.

I had a lot of success with Rat-L-Traps last fall with a stop and go retrieve. I've caught some big ones on traps.

NEVER buy a pre-rigged plastic hellgrammite. I have watched my friend fish one for six hours straight, without a single bite. He tried all different kind of retrieves, he tried with a swivel, w/o one etc. etc. etc. He tried everything me and him couldn't think of.

Yeah but this is my 2nd best lake that day I caught a 4.5 pounder, and a 3.5 pounder, and I was casting 4 feet away from him. It's kinda sad that I can't fish either one of my two fave lakes......
