Default Revo SKT Question

Just got a Revo SKT, the yellow and black Revo, from eBay. Anybody know the inches per turn? I'm think about putting it on the s-glass cranking rod, but may order the jerk bait/ topwater rod for it.

I believe the SKT has an IPT of 20.6", just like the regular Winch.

Pretty darn sure it's 23" IPT.

It was Skeets only reel, so he wanted it to work for anything from worms and deep diving cranks. And I think that IPT covers the spectrum pretty well.

Bigbassin144 has one so he could tell you for sure!

Sammy, you're right. I don't know why I was thinking it had Winch gearing but it doesn't. I'm not sure if 23" is right but 20.6" definitely isn't.

The Skeet Reese Revo has a 6.4:1 gear ratio.

Anyone want to guess what the IPT is?

But seriously, the IPT is 24.4.

The Premier has the same 6.4:1 ratio, but is 28 IPT.

Thank's for the info guys! With that IPT, I think I'll go with jerk bait/topwater rod and use it for shallow crankin' instead of the s-glass.

NFE is right. It's right around 24". It makes a great a shallow cranking reel and that's what I use mine for.

There was something odd with the Revo reels that came out at the same time as the SKT, the STX and Premier were all 6.4:1 gear ratio reels and they all were reported to hold like 145 yards of 12lb test line, but each had a different IPT, the SKT was 24.4, the STX was 27 and the Premier was 28. Allot of people have reported that the actual IPT is closer to 27. The other thing that is interesting about the SKT is that many people are not aware that there was actually two models of this reel, one had only magnetic braking the other had dual. The reel was basically a Premier with a higher bearing count and longer handle. Should have bought one when I had the chance, they are hard to come by in the RH model.

It's true that they did have two different models, but the first had centrifugal, not mag.

I don't have another 6.4:1 Revo to compare the speed to (my STX is 7.1:1), but I'm gonna see if I can measure the SKT's IPT to see what I can come up with. I've always found it odd that it has a lower IPT than the Premier did, but I wasn't aware the STX was also different...

My mistake it was a centrifugal reel, the other dual braking model was only on the market for a short time before they cleared it out. Will be interesting to see what you come up with for an IPT on the SKT, I have a couple of the older PRM and STX models, maybe I will test them out and see what I come up with.

I looked through some old Bass Pro catalogs and they advertised the SKT as holding 140 yards of 12lb test line, the other two were 145 yards. Doubt the 5 yards of line would equate to 2 to 3 inches of line retrieval.

Victor, you're not incorrect, the current model of the Skeet Reese reel is sold by Wright and McGill, probably mfg'd by Pinnacle. However prior to the current model, Skeet was a pro for Abu Garcia and had a signature series reel with them as well.

In my opinion there is no comparison between the two reels. The Revo was a much nicer reel, both versions of it.

Couldn't agree more! I'm glad a got one before he switched to W&M.

I didn't get a chance to measure the IPT in the Skeet Revo. Maybe next weekend, lol.
