Default How to remove a tick the right way!

I recently saw a report that there are more kids brought to ER for cigarette burns trying to get the ticks off than there are for problems with a tick bite.
Two of the guys went into the woods to get a better look at an Eagles nest and came out with 17 Wood ticks and a Deer Tick, most not attached but I thought I would video this one on my Brother In Law. lol
If they have been there a while they will cement themselve to you so pry up from the back end. They will also poop all over which is a good sign you have one in your hair if you see pepper on your fingers.
If you heat them they spit their toxin into you and cause more chance of infection.

Using those wide tip tweezers can do exactly what you're trying NOT to do. If you squeeze the body of the tick before you pull it out, you'll inject it's "contents" into the wound.
If you are in tick country (just about anywhere) be sure to have a pair of needle tipped tweezers. Come in from the side and grasp JUST the head of the tick and pull it out without accidentally squeezing the body.

Go to youtube.com and search for tic removal cotton swab. You will find it very interested. I tried posting the video's URL but for some reason, it didn't work.

Yeah I use an alcohol swab.Take a pint of George Dickel ,take a swig, dip swab in ,dab tick with swab liberally , sit back and wait and finish off the pint.By the time its consumed tick is dead, pulls off easily, and no pain involved.
Repeat for each individual tick.

You can do the same thing with Vaseline ... Well, not the "take a swig" part, but the Vaseline will suffocate the tick and it will pull out on it's own, usually.
