Freshwater and Saltwater reels
Well Im heading down to Florida for spring break and I was planning on doing some bass fishing, but Im also going saltwater fishing. My question is will using my bass fishing reel in saltwater mess it up?

can't be good for them. if it's only a one time deal you could probably rinse with freshwater afterwards and be fine. If you have expensive reels I wouldn't take the chance. just my opinion. Good luck on your trip.

no but you will need to clean and relube the reels the SAME DAY you salt water fish with them.. let the sand/salt sit and you have a wreck waitin to happen..
i have a few inshore reels i trade out on my rods..rods are less affected by salt water than reels -they still need to be rinsed off in FRESH water after fishing- zooker
