Default Big slump

Anyone else strung out in the low pressure clouds, wind, and rain for the past few weeks?

Normally it is in the 60's by now, but it is still in the 50's at best, without much sun. This means the weeds are coming in very very slow, nothing to target.

Is anyone else in a slump and even looking for their first bass of the year? What are you trying? I'm just trying to cover water and find fish with search baits. The shallow logs seem empty. ???

I just came back from being out for two hours and caught one 1.5 Ib BASS. This was my first in about two weeks. About four weeks ago we were catching them really good. Its been up and down temps, and rainy here for some time. I hope they start bitting again. Just stay with it and they will come.

If you have the patience, and can SLOW DOWN, without having a caniption fit, use a c-rig, and weightless plastics deadsticking them. Work the c-rig over any humps in 10-15 feet of water. Let the plastics fall all the way to the bottom around any wood or especially the beaver houses you have. You just have to work it very slow, or a PNJ yo-yo'd around those beaver houses. You can catch fish, just gotta SLOW WAY DOWN, and don't expect to catch a lot it aint gonna happen. Smaller flukes have worked best for me when it's cold, and deadsticking.
