just felt the first earthquake of my life.
There was another quake near Oklahoma city this evening at about 10:45 pm. We felt it here in wichita. It shook the couch I was on and I felt the wall behind me as it seemed to roll. That was freaky. We are suposed to get tornados, not quakes.

I lived in Hunington Beach for awhile and earthquacks can be exciting unless your 10 or more stories up. But my biggest wonder is, dose a quake have any effect on fishing, I mean if a high pressure front is enough to send them deep, I'm wonder thier reaction to a earthquake.

joe, guntersville is on a fault line. i can tell you that the fish shut down after a quake. had one hit there, small one, shook and made a crack on the road that is still there. and the bass did shut down for a few days.

I never expected to hear of an earth quake in OK. I did feel the foot stompin comming from Johns house durring the LSU game though. Think it was something like 6.2 on the scale.

I felt it too. I was sitting on the throne reading my Bassmaster magazine when it happened and it kinda spooked me at first. My first thought was we were having really high winds (it didn't occur to me right off that the bathroom I was in is in the middle of the house and you can't hear or feel wind in this bathroom), then as I kept hearing a low rumbling sound and the house started swaying a little I honestly thought it might be a tornado. I couldn't believe it was a tornado because we weren't having any bad weather but it was all I could think of at the time. Then I realized I could hear the news on the t.v. in the other room and if it were a tornado they would be talking about it, which they weren't so I knew it wasn't a tornado. Once the house quit shaking I finished the Day on the Lake article and went into the other room and that is when I heard it was an earthquake. Britney is mad because she was asleep on the couch and missed it totally lol. It was a strange feeling for sure.

Lol no the job at hand had already been completed, I was just enjoying the peace and quiet. It is amazing some of the places you go to for some quiet time when you have a 2 year old running around.

Didn't notice anything where we live, while every member of my family that lives in Oklahoma felt it and We are only a dozen miles or so from the Ok state line, so go figure.....Actually it was kinda weird when I was looking at the areas that felt the quake on the USGS website the the Ouachita mountain range seemed to be one area that didn't report feeling anything....I thought that was Interesting.....This whole mountain range is nothing more then compression ridges formed long ago.
PS....Glad nobody had and damage, except Kory's minor issues....lol
