Thanks for the advice, Zook. I was hoping you or Laser or somebody else with some experience would chime in on this thread. How well does this boat handle choppy water? I'm not gonna take it out on Lake Erie or anything, but I want to make sure the wife would feel comfortable in it, even with some wave action.

Daniel, i too think that the stratos is probably the best buy. Not that i am trying to talk you out of the basscat ( i ain't gonna get it either). It is just that after you hunt down a motor and get all the things water ready, you will have to wait till next spring to go fishing in it. And.....the stratos looks cleaner and has better paint, and so forth. One thing i would ask about is the thrust poundage of the troller on the stratos. It isn't listed.

Well, I'm apparently a day late and a dollar short again. I called the guy, he said supposedly another buyer is going to the ATM to buy it from him. He did say another guy did the same thing yesterday and never came back, so I'll try him back later to see what's happening.

Ok, not to worry, I found another one...

1995 Sprint 207 with a 200 hp Yamaha. About 3 hours from here, but right around the corner from my brother-in-law. It's a few years older than what I was really looking for, and it does need new seats, but I like the looks of it, overall. Any opinions?

Am I driving everybody crazy yet?

You mean the casting deck? It looks pretty big in the pics, and it extends all the way to the console, which I like. The back deck looks pretty good, too.

I've also found another boat, here in Jackson. I like the looks of it, too. 1993 model Pantera II... It's a 19 footer with a 150 on the back. Will that perform ok?

Daniel this basscat looks great. I like it better than the rest of them.

Thanks, Ron. I've already sent that guy an email to let him know I'm interested.
Heck, it even matches my truck...

Daniel the Pantera is a great boat. I have heard that one of the Pantera models ( I don't remember which model ) cost Bass Cat more money to make than the Puma. The pantera is a great riding boat and handles rough water very well, and it is also a running son of a gun. Panteras are very capable of hitting 70 mph with a 200 so it should do very well with a 150. Bass Cats also have a lifetime warranty on the hull which I think I already mentioned earlier. You can get all the information you want about that boat at http://www.basscat.com/ in the owners boards. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

Daniel,
That Pantera does look really nice. I noticed that the trolling motor looks like it's been upgraded, which is a plus. Also comes equipped with a jack plate, another plus.

Daniel, Something to consider. Kory's ranger is still for sell where he traded it in for the triton. I have no idea on price range or anything like that, but on the upside, you know the previous owner. Kory might be able to give you an idea on the pricing on that boat. Good luck to you.

Good thought, but my wallet's not big enough for that boat. That's the way Kory rolls, but not me.

And like Everett said, he knows the previous owner. That is another downside.

That could also be an upside like you would know how he took care of the boat.

bcklash I think we have ourselves a wise guy here that is taking shots at my brass ones . LOL, Daniel I don't know what they are going to ask out of the ol' Danger Ranger but I can check if you are interested. It might be closer to your price range than you think.

LOL, I really took excellent care of that boat. It isn't my fault that a Thermastat stuck on her.

Hey sippi here are a few deals I thought you might be interested in:

http://www.boattrader.com/listing/20...DE-19-96366584

http://www.boattrader.com/listing/19...anche-96630163

http://www.boattrader.com/listing/19...3B-DC-96441622

http://www.boattrader.com/listing/19...e-896-96620013

Most of them are quite a drive for you but if the deal is good enough it may be worth it. Although I don't think that you should get a Cajun because I hear bad things about the kind of people who fish out of Cajuns hahahahahaha.

They do appear to be a bit on the shady side. I love Boat Trader

Just got a call from a dealer here in town that just got in a 2000 Javelin with a 200 hp motor. If it's still there Saturday, I might go check it out.

Thanks for the links, Kory...I really like the second boat, the Ranger...great pic....

It was not his fault he bought a Mercury..He did not know what he stepped in..

By the way I have never heard of a Mercury blowing up again once a Yamaha trained wrench fixes it.
