Default Whats Wrong

Hey guys. The other day we were fishing and I hung this pig. I would have bet that it weighed about 7 or 8 lbs. when we weighed it was only 4.13. i was shocked. We tested the scales and they seemed to be right. It might not look like it in the pictures, but the fish looked discolored. I don't know what the problem is. A few days before a friend was with us and hung a nice one. We thought it weighed more also. It was only 4.6, he said it was probably spawned out. I guess that's what is wrong with mine. What does that mean exactly.

(sorry bout the big pictures)

Ya, looks like a 6lber to me, maybe high 5! The term "spawned out" means that she's dropped her eggs. And also the energy it takes to spawn probably dropped some lbs off of her! It's not a very fat fish as you can tell!

Nice bass fo sho tho!

Looks about right to me. Its a good bass.

I'm not saying this bout anybody in particular, but some people on this board have scales that are set to weigh heavier than the fish really is.

i agree jb. the smile is what i like too. nice bass mariner. if you look at the belly you can see that she did indeed lay all her eggs and lost some weight there. she "could've" gone close to 6.5 or so with her eggs. but i too think that took off some weight, the bedding takes a toll on a lady. at the end of the summer she will fill out again. that is unless you ate her.lol. that is a great catch my friend. and where were you fishing? that spot don't look familier to me, it at guntersville?

Strange observation, but does that fish have really small eyes or is it just me? You get up over four pounds it seems you get bigger, bulgier eyes...

Most fisherman cannot seem to GUESSTIMATE weights accurately. We always think bass are bigger than they really are.

Yeah, I'm always adding a couple inches when I guesstimate the length of something.

Nice fish! But the first thing I thought when I saw it was " What's up with it's eye?" I've never seen a Bass eye like that.

A lot of women can't guess measurement because they've always been told that 3.75" is 7".

Turning south again, but ROTFL. I hate when I see one roll, and could swear the fish changed between the last roll and by time it gets in the boat.

Yes, but not "bedding" takes a toll on a man, so a good amount is necessary.
