Aerator pumps air locked
I'm having trouble with the aerator pumps on my 2011 Triton. The motors run but sometimes one or both will not pump water. If I back the boat up with the pumps on it puts enough pressure on them that they will work. It's gotta be an air lock. Just wondering if any of you has ever run into something like this? I live 2 hours from a Triton dealer so I would prefer to try to fix it myself before taking it back to them to fix. Thanks in advance Shane

I am no boat expert, however it sounds like your sucking air instead of water. What your describeing is a loss of prime on the pump. This can only happen with lose fitting joints or cracks in the plumbing or pump houseing. Or posable a impropley seated pump houseing.
Look at all of your plumbing and your pump. |

Placing boat in reverse cleared mine as well but replacing the pump or pumps is the cure.
One of the things I didnt like about my buddies livewell also a tr21,timer is on incoming water not recirc, not hard to change those wires between them while at it. That new its under warranty, call them |

Thanks for the input guys. I did talk to Triton today, they said to make sure the aerator hoses are facing straight towards the outside of the boat and not up or down. Sounds kinda weird to me but he said if the hoses werent that way they can air lock. I guess I will try that first.
