Throw to the bank the wind is blowing into. The baitfish should be piled in there by the breeze, and the bass will follow.

crankbaits and spinnerbaits are killer in the wind.

Leave the lizard in the bed, and just twitch it gently every now and then. They'll defend the eggs from what they percieve as a predator eating them.

I've read the opposite!

In my Babe Winkleman book it said fish the side of the cover that the wind is not blowing to, it can give the bass cover from the wind, also they will go deep if the wind's really bad! But it's an old book, so... well ya.

I think it may be a difference in how strong the wind is. If there's just a good steady breeze, they'll be out on the wind-blown banks. Gale-force blustery wind, they might head for cover.
I found this on a quick Google search:

http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/wind_bass.html

Look towards the end of the article.

Sometimes fishing the windy bank can be very productive. throw cranks, spinners and also jerkbaits.

Grab a spinnerbait or lipless crankbait, throw parallel to the bank the wind is blowing into hang on to your rod. I've had days where we had the TM on 4-5 speed with 5 being the highest speed- to hold position and done pretty well paralleling those wind blown banks.

On windy days and here in CA. its a given, I crank going with the wind. Most fisherman seem to go into the wind. Long easy cast and it catches many fish.

I think wind tends to affect fishermen in boats even more than it does the fish. Even if the textbook says go to the windblown banks, if its so windy I can concentrate I'm still not gonna be any good. Spinnerbaits are a definite +1 though, especially with painted colorodo or indiana blades.

Throw it all around, fish with the wind AND against the wind you got nothing to lose but time. On gutsy wind days under dark clouds you will see me throw a white/chart skirt with gold tandem Colorado and Indiana blades. Strong wind under bluebird days I throw white with silver double willows. Both time I reel in FAST. Size of blade is important.
