Default Line changing reminder.

Just a lil reminder. The season is half over for us northern brothers. Our southern brothers get to enjoy this wackiness year round. Regardless of where you live, it's probably time for a line change for users of mono, copoly and flourocarbon. If your using the same line you spooled on in the spring, it's time for changing it. Line degrades over time from sunlight, weather, heat, and of course wear and tear. You don't have to replace the whole spool. Just remove about 70%, and tie your new line to your old line and respool. For most reels that should be sufficiant. Mono is cheep, so a total line change, should you go that route, won't break the bank either unless your changing line on 20 rigs like some folks in here. Also I don't care what knot you use, if your line is week, no knot is safe to use!

CHEEP! Did he say mono is CHEEP? That's No Fear Chickeneer (third chick from the left) that brought this to my attention.

OK, good reminder Keith, not ony does it degrade with sunlight, heat etc, but the MEMORY retention is a PITA for most of those lines also (especailly on those reels that sit mostly unused for weeks in the rod locker).

Season's more then half way over for me, can't hold any kinda rod with the blasted cast.

But re spooled so fluoro just the other week, and I'll be putting that on my new reel on the way from Joe. Gonna put some mono on the ol BPS.
