Default Do those so called spray attractants work

i dont beleive or run out and buy the latest thing, and doubt that they work. but do they, thinking of spraying down my plastics, and letting em soak when i am not using them. idk just wondering i doubt it does but it never helps to work

Most sprays work for a limited time, spraying and leaving doesnt help a lot, anymore I buy impregnated worms if I want something along that line or coated with salt and or oil of some type.
Dont like carrying it as can spill out or spew out on carpet or leave a compartment smelly,I do carry spike it (chart)and it has scent but use it over the side of the boat so wont color the carpet up or stink it up,its non spray dipin bottle additive is garlic and salt.
Dye something like the tip of a tail its an additive to make it attractive not color it all over the smelly stuff part is so they hang on to it longer.
If you want stinky leave a powerworm on and bring it in the house heat will take care of the rest, trust me.

I think they turn light biters into hard bitters. They also hold on to em longer, and cover up human scent good.

A while back I talked to JJ of JJ's Magic on the phone for a while. I learned more in that phone call about scents than I ever imagined. One thing that he said several times is that scents won't get you more bites, he claimed that it would make fish hold on longer when they did bite though.

Nobody can say 100% whether they really make a difference, but if they give you more confidence then go for it because confidence is the best fish attractant you can have.

Another thing about scents in general, is they can help lubricate plastics and swimbaits. This can help them slip through cover better and help the fish take the bait deeper in their mouths, (more for large swimbaits).

I'm convinced they do make the fish hold on longer. Even if they don't help a whole lot I can promise they don't hurt anything.

I think they work to mask human odor which is a good thing. I don't use them as much as I should.

IMO

The most potent garlic spray is the Cold Pressed Liquid Garlic with Sea Salt from www.garlicvalleyfarms.com It's a very strong spray and a couple of spritzes in a baggie of soft plastics is plenty. Comes in an 8 ounce bottle and the shipping is the same 3 bucks whether ordering one bottle or a bunch.

I've been using the same attractant for many years....I've tried others, but always end up going back to the original "Fish Formula".....I'm convinced the stuff causes fish to hang on longer then any other brand I've tried and definately longer then using the same bait without it......And plastics that have been marinating in the stuff are the only way to go.

Well for oil bases sents they're never gonna draw in fish because oil wont disperse in water (the old oil and water analogy). Now water base sents like gulp and others may have a better chance of drawing fish in because it will make a sent trail the fish can follow because water is of coarse water soluble. With all this being said a basses olfactory senses are not the greatest in the world ( compared to some fish catfish, carp, ect.) so this is what leads me to use oil based attractants, they stay on the bait much longer and all i want is the longer bite. I try to you something with pheromones. Good luck man!

I definitely feel that Bait attractant is a valuable addition to the arsenal! I tend to go with GrandeBass Mega 3 scent/attractant, Chompers G formula and Spike it or JJs for the scented worm dyes. I am convinced they will create some additional bites, not by bringing fish in from a distance but by stimulating a reaction of a fish the bait might be in front of or near. Holding on longer is also added benefit, but stimulating a more aggressive hit is also the case. My partner uses the Smelly Jelly (that stuff is awfully powerful and last a long time!) and I no it has worked when other stuff hasn't. So specific brands really come down to a matter of personal preference, the common denominator is they work!
