Cleaning lures?
Looking for a tip I found one of my old tackle boxes and it has 30 or 40 lures I would like to keep. Something at one time or another leaked inside the box and it covered the lures in some residue. Is there anything out there that works well but won't totally throw off the fish?
What I mean is I am worried about leaving a different type of residue on the lures that would cause them to be disinterested. Bear |

I read something in Bassmaster one time about putting your old lures in the dishwasher and running them thru a cycle. You could also try the Mister Clean Magic Eraser pads, they should take off all the dirt and grime and shouldn't affect the paint. Another thing you might try is KVD line and lure conditioner, I've used this to clean up my cranks and it makes them shine pretty good.

I have good luck with simple green. I use a 25:1 ratio with hot water. Soak for a while then scrub with a toothbrush. It has not affected the bite or paint on any of the lures I have done this on.
