Yum vs. Yamamoto
I know that Yamamoto senkos are more expensive than yum dingers. I alsoheard that senkos rip easier than dingers.is any one better in particular?

I feel that the senkos have better action and may catch a few more fish, but the value is much better on the dingers. I think its just a personal choice, but if money isn't an issue then I would go with Yamamoto.

Yamamotos are great, BUT they don't last long and cost more.

Wacko's
I like Wacky Worm's Wacko, it comes in regular and thin but best of all they're about $15 a 50 bag. Great baits, and GREATER people to deal with. ( www.wackyworm.com ). bigbasser

Never spent that much on plastics and don't plan to. 95% of the senko type worms I use are YUM. with a pack of BPS ones (not that good) and a pack of Nemesis stick baits that Bender makes.

Senkos... they honestly don't seem that different than my Yums or Strike Kings or even the generic Gander Mts, but I do catch more fish with the Senko.

To be honest, i've never thrown an actual Senko, I do like the Dinger, BPS Stick-O, and a couple others. As for price the senko isn't that bad for a price when on sale. Here at the Dick's Sporting Goods they are on sale 2 bags for $10... not too bad of a price.

I feel that the senkos will catch fish when the other brands won't. I will always start with one of the lower priced brands and if the fish are hitting, I stick with that one.
I usually switch to the actual senkos when the bite is slower. They have triggered bites in places where a yum didn't.

I usually don't talk about the baits we make but since you asked a general question I'll give my take on it. From what I have seen Senkos are made with a ton of salt, this gives them a fast fall rate and that wiggle that bass can't resist. We spent a lot of time developing our recipe to maintain that wiggle but with a little slower fall rate to stay in the strike zone longer and to be as durable as possible for our Nemesis Sickos.
Whichever brand you choose give it a "drop test" in a tank or pool and watch to see if it has that action. And that is, in my opinion, why they catch more fish. |

In all honesty I only own a bag or two of "yum" plastics and I have nothing good or bad to say about them... I picked up some gary yamo swimsenkos and pro senkos because I saw them on sale. I found that in open or deeper water the swimsenkos rigged weedless without any weight were quite effective.
The Pro senkos on shakyheads proved their ground as well. And they lasted long enough to justify buying some more of them. Call me crazy but personally I prefer throwing Zoom finesse plastics... Weightless and weedless, They dont sink to fast and you can twitch them and keep them up near the surface of the water if need be, or keep them a little deeper with a slower, less aggressive retrieve, Where as the swimsenkos sink quickly... Which is not a bad thing but most of the local lakes I fish are not deep enough for that. I still have a nice collection of plastics that I poured myself, and I like those the best, even if they dont catch as many fish.

White Zoom Trick worms weightless rigged weedles absolutly KILL where me and bigfelk22 fish. KILL I TELL you. I'll use a senko style worm and not get anything and then switch to the Trick worm and then it's on like donkey kong.
I don't know why I just don't use them from the start |

For fun fishing I will use Dingers and stuff but in a tournament I will use the Senko. They are better in my opinion. I'm not going to spend that money for the senko and waste them while I'm goofing off.

I think I'll get real senkos. Also, one day when I was a dicks sporting goods, I saw a bag of shaw grigsby pro series five inch salty sticks. They were only two bucks so I figured what the heck and got one. Anyone like these?

I would take senkos over the dinger if the prices were the same, but with the way they are now, I buy YUM
