P-Line Spectrex Braid
Anyone ever try this? How does it compare so Power Pro.
I'm looking for some 50lb braid for my musky rods and want to spend the least amount of cash I can. A 150yd spool is 3 bucks cheaper than power pro. I'd go with Sufix, but it's 5 bucks more per spool than PP. BB

Stick with the Power Pro. I've tried most of the braids and in my opinion it is the one that gives the best bang for my buck.
Spectrex doesn't seem to cast as easy and I've broken off a fish or two, have never broken off with PP and I fish in some nasty stuff sometimes. Just my 2c |

I used that stuff once and now comparing it with my sufix I hate it even more, the p line was just annoying, I got more tangles with it and like bonsaibp said it doesn't cast as well. Like others will say, you get what you pay for.

Thanks guys, I just needed someone to confirm my choice of power pro, lol. I do like the Sufix braid better, but it's 5 bucks more.

I used the stuff for years. I didn't have a single problem, whereas I did with a lot of other options on the market. The Sufix is actually my LEAST favorite braid to date. The only thing I'll say about the P-Line is that 1) it takes some time to break it in, and 2) it likes to "shed" excess fiber and over time your reels will need to be cleaned.
I switch off between P-Line and Power pro depending on the particular conditions I'm faced with and really like them both. |

the best braid made is fireline's new braid.powerpro and sufix are both outdated.the new fireline is an 8 strand braid which is smoother and handles better.
