Welcome to the forum!

That is really up to you. I always said 7 or better, and I have an 8 on the wall. Now if I catch one I want to mount instead I'm going to weigh, measure, and photograph it and get a fiberglass replica made and let the fish go.

i live up here in ny and i have a 7 3/4 mounted.like reb says next time will be a replica.a fish that old in new york is near the end of it's life anyway but i would feel better with a replica.i still would kill one to eat it but not for a mount anymore.that said it's your own personal decision to make and i would not tell you not to do it.if you were in texas or florida i would say it should be at least a 10 or a 14 in california.good luck looking for that trophy!!!

15lb + i dont mount anything smaller.....i will most likely catch something smaller then that again, and the money is to much to be mounting anything under 15lbs..

In Oklahoma the record is only 14 and some oz's so i'm gonna say if i caught a 7 or 8 lb. it would probly go on my wall. Might go with a replica....

Here in ohio the state record is 13 pounds so i would say anything over 10 pounds is mountable.
