My confidence knot

The only time I don't use this knot is when I use the palomar for drop-shotting

Use that knot for everything except for tying on some lures thats when I use the loop knot. Use it offshore and inshore (saltwater) never slipped.

My uncle taught me that knot about 10 or 11 years ago. Since learning that knot I have put very much faith in it, it has never failed me, not once.

Palomars are very strong and simple to tie. But, as the article explains, the uni-knot has alot of applications. It seemed hard to me when I first saw it in an Eagle Claw insert years ago, but now I can tie it in my sleep.
Please remember that you only need to wrap it three times when tying it to the reel. That is so it isn;t as bulky and doesn't catch on the remaining line as you cast.
