something I have got to get into.........I have much more free time to tourney fish in the summer...whats some of your favorite summertime cranks? DD22S?

I have had some luck on Mann's 8 minus and 4 minus on some of the IL lakes marinas in the summer but I haven't been able to hook up with a hog!

these guys all named off some great crankbaits. not trying to hi jack your thread but i just thought of a crankbait that you don't hear of much in the bass world. i was wondering if anyone used them much, i use them from time to time when the bite is slow and i don't really have to target bass. these baits will catch any species of fish including bass. but around here in the summer they are one of the best crankbaits going for walleye.

Wiggle Warts, Pee Wee Warts, Wee Warts, Sub Warts, Flat Warts, Mid Warts, Mag Warts, and even a Thinfin or two

I also like the Bandit, I've got ome blanks I've been painting to suit me, and some of the Japanese style cranks sure look nice, and a few even swim and hunt nice, but it's still hard to beat a Wart, or a Shad Rap. I've also been fishing with some killer handmade baits modeled after the Zoom cranks, they really are works of art, the gentleman who traded with me for them got the short end of the stick, I fear, and he got at least two of everything in my catalog!

Carolina's Chips Cranks are my favorites My most used are All types/brands of lipless cranks. Bomber B's, Norman's LiL-N's, and Mann's -1. However there isn't a lot of places to crank deep here in Florida. If you go with that D22, well just keep throwing it all day, and see how you feel the next day rotfl.

Mostly, there are a few exceptions, but rare.

I use Rapala Shad Raps year round. I mostly use the black/silver color since BP stopped carrying the other baitfish color I liked. I also use Rapala Taildancers. I really like those when the fish are very active. They have a wider wobble.

sorry dont fish lakes alot but in ponds and in creeks rapalas. 3 inch original floater. I have 45 cranks of different sizes, Models, brands, more. Alot are close to the same color B/c thats what worls for me, but just get a varity so no matter what you have that one that will work. im sure you fish lakes (like i said i dont) sorry cant help that much but the best tip is VARITY (I feel i dont have enough) just alot of different things. depths they dive, color, action keep all this in mind when shopping. pick up some ones that make you think thats not gonna catch anything, I have and they have been very good cranks.

I have been using cranks for many years with good success. Basically, I don't have a prefered brand. I carry several in my box of different brands. RapallasDT Shad Raps, Bomber, Srike King, Cabellas Brand, I have a bunch. They all work well. It just depends on how deep I want to fish that day, the action I am looking for, the color I want to use, and so on. One day my Shad Raps will be killing them and the next it might be my shallow running Cabellas crank. It depends more on conditions than brand when it comes to cranks. Which crank will do the right job at the right time. The only thing I do believe in when buying cranks is to stay with known brands which have a reputation of making quality lures that run straight and true.

if you use lighter line and make a longer casts they might run a bit deeper.

3) Bandit 100 (shallow) and 200 (deeper)
4) Rebel Deep Wee R - 8-12' (prefer old style paint)
5) Speed Trap - shallow creeks or grass edges
6) Poe's 300 - pitching docks
7) L.C. RC 1.5 - sparse grass or shallow cover
8) Norman Deep Little N
