...I like # 7 Shad rap in the orange (crawfish) in early spring, also RC-3 in
the baby bass and deep little N in blueback chartreuse belly...after it gets hot I like the DD22 in purple scale back and chartreuse belly...when water is real dingy, there is nothing better than th Cordell Big O rattlin around rip rap...
...if you are just fishing for fun, the easiest way to get to run deeper is to
use 8lb mono and make a cast and leave bail open or put in free spool and
pay out line as you run the trolling motor...lure floats on top until you run out all your line, then just crank it in....It is like making a 400 ft cast....of course
you could not do this in tournaments since it is illegal....we used to call it the
drop & run...you get on one side of a point and "drop" your lure in the water and then "run" (with trolling motor) to the other side....you will be surprised
how deep you can get a DD22 to run and for a long way..!!
