The most important thing is to be patient. Each bed has a certain spot that will irritate the bass into moving your bait. Cast past the bed and bring your bait back into it, if you cast right on top of the bed it just make the fish wary and harder to catch. Work the bed slowly and make repeated cast, when you find the right spot on the bed the fish will address the bait. From this point pay close attention you might give the bait a slight twitch to trigger the strike. You'll want to make sure the fish has the bait fully inhaled before you set the hook, alot of times they will pick it up by a claw or the tip of the bait to move it. Youll need a quick hookset because it doesnt take the fish long to pick up the bait and spit it off the bed. My favorite bait for bedfishing is a watermelon/red baby fork craw rigged on a slider pro model jig head, a white tube would be my second, and a shakey head worm third. Bed fishing can be alot of fun and very challenging at the same time, but after you land that fat female it makes all your work to get the bite worth while.
