Default Steering Wheel Angle Problem

I have an 87 model fiberglass bass boat. I am 6'4 and due to the set angle of the steering wheel that is mounted to the fiberglass console I am having great difficulty being able to comfortably sit in the drivers seat due to my legs coming in contact with the bottom of the steering wheel. Does any one have a simple solution for my delima? I have been doing some research on this topic and have seen a angled steering plate wedge that can be placed behind the steering wheel on certain model boats. I was wondering if this would be the best method or would trying to find a tilt steering column that will fit my boat be the best bet? Thoughts?

Welcome to the forum bud. Yes you can put the angled plate in and save big bucks. Off of the top of my head it takes about 1hr to put that plate in. The tilt column will cost some serious bucks. Last time I remeber seeing a tilt steering helm you where looking at over $200. The plate should be around $50 or less.

I am 6'5'' and the tilt wheel all the way up is really comfortable for me.
