Default Picked up some more at Academy tonight.

My monkey is bleeding me dry!

I picked up a new, larger, tackle bag, a new 7' tourney choice medium action rod, new AG Ambassadeur reel, some 20# Seaguar red label, and a few new lures. All told I dropped another $140

Since they opened I have poured about $350 into them, and I don't see an end in sight...

I love a happy ending!

You're getting quite the collection there John. Maybe it's time to save up for more expensive combo... (The monkey made me say that, I'm sorry...)

Oh, I am way ahead of you. In fact I have it picked out already. I'm out of work right now, but when I get back I see a 7' bright orange rod with a Calcutta on it.

Shoot, now my monkey is drooling...

If it comes down to sticker shock I am thinking a B, but in price is no concern, or my balls sprout more hair, I could come home with anything...

Oh yeah, and we are not even getting into LP casters. OMG... I've said too much! Bad monkey! Bad monkey!

Well, not to complicate things or anything , but if you can get past the sticker shock of the TE, you should check out the JDM Conquest.

It's much cooler looking (IMO), and this version comes with Shimano's DC+ cast control.

Just don't ask how much it is.

I am a bit ashamed, but I took the Ambassadeur. It was the the 5600 BCX, and after toying with it a bit I was not thrilled, but I was gonna give it an honest run. Then I read some pretty technical reviews that kinda scared me. They were all about the same issue, and it had to do with the gears. I gave it a lot of thought and decided to take it back. I will wait of a round caster until I can get one that is at least in the $100 range, and I have done a lot more research. I may even wait until i can get that calcutta.

That being said, I didn't just walk away. I still needed a reel, so I did the safe thing and bought the same reel I bought about two week ago. The Pflueger Criterion. I also returned the rod I bought for cranking and replaced it with a 6'6" Cherrywood. It's almost an identical setup to my worming rig, just a longer handle on the rod.

I am positive I will love it, because I already have been for two weeks!

Yeah, there's just something about a round reel that looks really cool. Unfortunately, the one pictured will cost you about $700 before shipping and import taxes.

A Little less expensive, and just as cool looking:

Daiwa Pluton ($390)

You're right BB, I agree with someting about rounds being cool just for looks. Fortunately, they're also highly functional.

Goodness gracious, $350.00? That's practically a core.

Shame on you for yielding to your monkey. It takes fortitude, mental strength, and discipline to resist the monkey's cal, something I have in spadesl. Come on, whose in charge? You or the monkey?

I NEVER... EVER... let my bait monkey get the better of me. He does however, gets the worst of me though. $$$$

Kidding aside, I think it's a good thing the closest BPS to me is nearly 1000 miles away. I've been feeling the tug of the monkey for an airbrush, a Lamiglas XMG, a Core. As Darth Baiter would say about you, "The force is strong in this one."
