live well
im fixin up my 18 foot john boat and im gonna make it a bassboat basically..i want to put a livewell in it but i dont wanna spend much money. Im also gonna put a platform in the front and the back. and mayb some seats on those platforms. Its gonna take a few years to do it bcuz i want to spend money over a period of time and not all at once so i can still have money for other things like more lures lol but would anybody have any plans to fix up the john boat? i also am gonna make me something for at my house so i can keep my minnows alive and i dont have to catch them everytime i wanna go fishin. Any ideas on that?

You can buy a cooler, and a aerator(Walmart,BPS, Etc..) that clips on to a 12 volt battery, for about $50 total. It won't be self filling though. You can also buy a livewell designed for jon boats at BPS, which looks preety sweet. I believe it's around $200, but comes assembled, with a divider. And it can even be used as a seat I believe. I beleive one of our old members made a livewell himslf, with a cooler, and some hoses, to fill itself, and aerate.

its just a johnboat with nothing on it...plain basically..except for a trolling motor i have. Im not old enough to buy all these fancy things for it im only 15 and i dont have a job right now because highschool baseball takes up about ALL your time. But i was thinking on cheaper than 50 dollars but i mite be able to get the wires and tubes and aerator from my grandpa because he fishes at the beach alot and mayb he has an extra one

Here's a good pictorial site for converting a Jon Boat to a Bass Boat. However, the didn't include any text, or any Live well from the looks of it.
