find a map of the lake, with depth contour lines. Find the most productive water first. Points, ledges, steep drop offs, stump fields, good weed edges, creek channels etc... You should be able to eliminate at least 50% of the water before you ever get there.

Ironman, you have to put your time in. Google it. Buy a map. Get out there. There are no magic GPS numbers in bass fishing. Find a bank, drift, and cast to the sides. If you find some deepwater structure, fish it.

By the way I did fish that area you are speaking of 2 years ago in December with my Dad. That's where the Giant Gator bigger than my boat was from Last weekend we saw at least 3 gators over 10' within a mile of each other on this lake. I aint getting in the water there for nothing, not even with a gun pointing at me, ya better shoot cuz Lizards aint getting wet there. This is also the same Lake we almost sank my boat going back and forth to the island. Got to the island, the wind picked up, and it was almost all over. Lizards

when i made the arrors i didnt necessarily pinpoint the shoreline on purpose.. i figured since the water would be likely warm, that it wouldnt hurt to target deeper points off of those points etc, or the inside turns on certain bays... certainly without a contour map its impossible to tell depth, but if those points are shallow as well, then i could be off
for me up here in Iowa, our water temps are 80 already, and I am finding them on every point I can find. drag a big 10inch worm across the bottom, and find fish |
