Default a bad thing

as i was banging my way across the northern part of badin in my lil stratos a guy flys past me with a 911 nitro. about 1/4 mile farther his bow swapped ends with the moter. he was doing about 50 or so. not pretty!!! i stopped to see if he was ok. the force threw a plano box in the drink-it was floating- and 3 rod reels which were strapped down. he said that he lost grip on the wheel..

Was it pretty windy at Badin today? If it was anything like it was here, 50 was a stupid move on any boat

Damn Zook what did he hit or what broke???? Things could have been much worse as you know. Glad he made it through that. Dont recall if I told ya or not but I did several 360's IN THE AIR at approx 60 mph several years ago because of broken motor bracket. At that speed first you think it (chit) and before its allover you smell it. Almost a month later I was able to take a SLOW ride in a boat. 5 broken ribs a fractured hip and dislocated shoulder. Now alot of you know why I stress RESPECT on the water. KNOW YOUR RIG and DO AT LEAST monthly inspections of your boat.4hp or 250hp and things can go chitty REAL quick.

Fortunately, my row boat doesn't get air. However, sometimes, if I row real quick, I can carve may way through some lily pads.

My jon boat has seen air twice! Those hurricane brand deck boats throw quite a wake when coming to no-wake at a bridge. I just wish he would have come off plane when he was supposed to, not when he did. If I hadn't seen it, cranked the 15 and started to take off, I would have been smashed into the piling. The folks on the deck boat never knew, too busy partying

Once more got air because I was trying to, long story involving lots of complex variables and well, I'll stop the BS, it was a 2-day Tx, and we were trying to tube with a 14ft boat pushed by a 15 Johnson. Beer was involved. (it was after the first day, we all camped at the lake)
