Should I be concerned? Question about the 4" tru life swimbait.

The 4" tru tungsten tru life swimbait comes apart and you can add the balls. But should I be worried about it coming apart when I cast or set the hook? I would hate to have bought a 20.00 swimbait and than end up with a 10.00 if it, along with a useless bait -- if you know what I mean

yeah, i was lookin at it in the bass pro mag today at school

and i was wonderin the same thing.. i'm not payin 20 bucks for a bait thats gunna come apart on a fighting fish...

i havent had a single problem outta mine yet, it is very durable caught several fish on it in two months.. you can actually barely bend the pin before you put it back in and that will ease your mind youll like the fit.. i would also advise using braid while fishing it..

What's your fave lb test?

Should 30lb work?

yeah 50lb braid will be great.... braid only comes in 30+ most of the time (u can buy it in 10) but you might as well get some of the big stuff.... power pro is great.... im not voicing concerns.... im giving money to my frined tommorow to buy me one at the classic

It might be where you are shopping Aiken. I have 50 and 65 lbs braid on my reels.

That being said, I throw my swimbaits on 40 lbs mono.

I can tell you guys I have never had a problem with them coming apart. I owe two and have not had a single problem. Read the packaging, it says to bend the metal rod slightly after inserting it. I love this bait and I have really wacked them at Lake Lanier on them...

yeah one of the reasons i picked it over the spro bbz 4 inch was it didnt have soft tails that can fly off and it had two different sink rates

Same deal with me. The tru tungsten also has better action than the BBZ spro for what I've read.

You're welcome. Tru-Tungsten sent us some of their swimbaits, including the new Tru-Life 4". I haven't fished that one in particular yet, but am impressed with the design and looks. I'll be fishing it when the waters warm up a bit.

Yes be wary of them coming apart.

It says on the package if the pin is loose to put a little bend in it to tighten it up.

My son tied one on this past monday to see it in the water, 2nd cast it came apart. He had it right beside the boat so the tail section floated up. I took a pin out of one of our others and it seemed the hole the rod slides in was a little bigger in this particular bait.

I took it home and used a piece of wire clothes hanger cut to length and it worked perfectly (I might add that it is a bit thicker, and stronger than the factory rod.)

And the ones I got did not have the 0 ring painted, I had to sharpie it
